What is an Employer of Record

The fastest legal way to hire in a country where you don't have an entity.

An Employer of Record is the legal employer of record for your team in a given country. We sign the local contract, run local payroll, deduct local tax and social security, and remain compliant with local labour law — while your hire works on your team, on your terms, with your tools.

You skip the 6–12 months and AED 50,000+ it takes to register a foreign subsidiary, and avoid the ongoing overhead of running it. The trade-off: you delegate the employer paperwork to a regional specialist.

Frequently asked

Everything most teams ask in their first call.

What exactly is an Employer of Record?

An Employer of Record (EOR) is the legal employer of record for your team in a country where you don't have a registered entity. Priv Consulting signs the local employment contract, runs local payroll, deducts and remits local tax and social security, and handles statutory benefits — while your hire works on your team day-to-day. You skip the cost and time of registering a foreign subsidiary.

How fast can you onboard a new hire?

Typical onboarding is 5–7 working days from a signed offer letter to first day of employment. Visa-dependent hires (notably some UAE cases) take longer based on government processing times — we set realistic timelines upfront.

What countries do you currently cover?

We are live in three countries: the United Arab Emirates, Jordan and Pakistan. Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Egypt, Qatar and Oman are on the active expansion roadmap. If you need to hire somewhere we don't yet cover, tell us — we may already be in the process of setting up there.

How does pricing work?

One flat monthly fee per employee, payable in your billing currency. Pricing varies by country and volume; expect a precise quote within 24 hours of your enquiry. There are no setup fees, FX margin charges or termination penalties.

Who is the legal employer — you or my company?

Priv Consulting is the legal employer in-country, which is what allows us to comply with local labour, tax and social security law on your behalf. Day-to-day, your hire works for your team and reports to your management. We co-employ in spirit, but the legal employment relationship sits with us.

What about end-of-service / gratuity?

End-of-service indemnity is a statutory entitlement in the GCC and Jordan, calculated as a function of years of service and last basic salary. We accrue the cost monthly so there is no surprise on exit, and we settle the entitlement on the employee's final day per local law.

Can our existing contractors be moved onto your platform?

Yes. Converting a long-term contractor to a compliant local employee is one of the most common reasons clients engage us. We draft a fresh local employment contract, transfer the working relationship, and start running compliant payroll from a defined date — typically without disruption to the work itself.

Is my employee data secure?

Yes. We hold employment data in encrypted infrastructure, enforce two-factor authentication on every admin account, and operate to UAE Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL) principles. Detailed information is available on request.
